Back in June my gum started to hurt back behind my top rear teeth, got my dentist Dr. Casey Cook in Somerville to check it out (great guy, thanks Ken!), he set me up to meet with an oral surgeon to discuss getting my wisdom teeth pulled.
Couple weeks back, headed over to 2353 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, MA -- just on the Somerville border -- to meet with Dr. Toby Feldman of the Commonwealth Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Associates. A doctor with a damn cheerful personality, Dr. Feldman put me down to get my right wisdom teeth pulled and scheduled it today.
So this morning I get up a little hung over from heading out with Erin, Isaac, and TD last night, do a little work, then head over there to get done what I expected was going to be a seriously drawn out afternoon of cutting and hammering and blood spurting everywhere. Didn't help that I got there 25 minutes late and the woman at registration was pissed.
But they take me in anyway, an anaesthesiologist lights up some nitrous oxide for me, and Dr. Feldman comes in and -- no joke -- has both teeth done and me ready to go in less than ten minutes. Simplest damn procedure I've ever done, I couldn't have been more impressed with her skill and manner.
When I asked how the hell it went so easily, her response? "Simple. I'm awesome."
That was the truth. Go nowhere else.

"Simple. I'm awesome."
You'll know that she can back up that claim, after you've experienced that kind of service. With that in mind, whatever your misgivings are about going to the dentist will be gone in a flash.

Wow, less than 10 minutes? That was really fast! Maybe your wisdom teeth was easy to extract so it took the dentists such a short time to take it out. I wish more people would be convinced to undertake such a procedure if needed.
